During St. Patrick's Day, I have always focused on leprechauns and rainbows and pots of gold, but this year, I'd like to take a different approach. I'd like to spend time learning about the history behind St. Patrick's Day, focusing on ELA while learning some history!
My idea for this anchor chart is to get the kiddos to write on Post-it notes and fill up any prior knowledge they have on St. Patrick and then asking questions on him, as well!

(From the History Channel)
After we discuss our prior knowledge and identify our questions about St. Patricks, we will watch the video on St. Patrick from the History Channel, then really dive into reading!!
St. Patrick Passage and interactive flip page with facts we've learned.
Eight page mini book for the kiddos. We are practicing highlighting facts and focusing on important facts and interesting information.
After we read our mini book, we will write facts and complete our flip book.
