My First Experience w/ Washi Tape (well.... Scotch's brand) {Monday Made It}

I haven't bought any Washi tape so far this summer, even though it is the big craze. I went to Staples to buy some printer ink (of course...) and I happened to find something that looked just like Washi tape. I picked up Scotch's version of Washi tape and decided to come home and play!

I took an old $1 marker cannister from Dollar Tree and an old $2 pencil bucket from IKEA and wiped them down to make sure it was a smooth service.

I started with the pencil holder. Starting at the top, I pulled the tape around the edge of the bucket, then continued down the entire holder.

I did the same process for the marker bucket, but this time I started at the bottom and worked my way up. I found no difference in starting from the top or the bottom.
 The marker bucket was a lot harder because it was round. It has some creases and folds, but hey, that's character, right??

 Both crafts completed.

I am linking up through Fourth Grade Frolics Monday Made It post.

  3. They look great! I love your color choices. I also think you are very brave for picking a round container, I would have never even attempted it!

  4. I bought some a few years ago and put it around the top of my file cabinets. The hard flat surface was very forgiving for bubbles and lumps.

  5. I'm learning the ways of Washi tape too!

  6. I bought a roll of Washi tape the other day. Everyone is talking about it so I thought I should too.

  7. I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!! So stinkin cute! I just linked up, too! I am also a second grade teacher. Your blog colors were my wedding colors! Good taste! :)

  8. Cuteeeee! Is the washi tape expensive!? I've been needing to get some.....

  9. Did you like the Expressions tape? I tried putting some on a black clip and though it didn't cover well. I bet it looks much better on the clear containers.

  10. I saw Scotch's tape on my last trip to Staples! Love the colors you chose! :)
