Second Grade Nest: Play-Doh

Sunday, June 16, 2013

Materials Needed:
2 cups of Flour (we ended up adding about a cup more while mixing)
2 cups of warm water
1 cup of Salt
2 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
Food Coloring
1 tablespoon of Cream of Tartar

1. In a big bucket or bowl, pour flour, warm water, salt, oil, and cream of tartar. Add in your food coloring drops.
2. Stir with a mixing spoon for about a minute. Judging by the consistency of your play dough, add in necessary ingredients. If it is still pretty soupy, add more flour in. We ended up adding almost another cup in. Just add little by little until you get where you should be if you're comparing it to store bought Play-Doh.

Oops! Forgot to take pictures of us mixing it up!
Well, here is picture of the tub that we mixed it up in. :-)

The purple ended up to be a very heinous color, but the kids didn't notice for one second.
They still truly enjoyed their play time!
