Five for Friday

I've been a terrible blogger, I am so sorry, but we ended our school year with kids last week and have had five days of PD and meetings. I haven't had much to talk about for the last week because my brain has been absolutely fried from all these meetings about pacing!

Since I haven't checked in with you guys in a week, let me show you five awesome things that happened this week!

1. Meetings Galore
Planning, curriculum, pacing guides, scope and sequence, PD, assessment planning...
I've done it all. Today is the LAST DAY! After today's meetings, I will begin my summer off (besides my Gifted and Talented teaching in June.)

2. Planning my first wedding shower
My teacher friend Jaclyn is getting married at the end of June. So, my friend Jessica and I planned out her bridal shower. We did the shower on Wednesday during our lunch break. It was a nice break from all the meetings we had all day!
Our PTT catered the event with Subway and we have many people buy awesome gifts!

Left: Our dessert table was adorable! One of our fourth grade teachers used to be a baker so whenever we have special functions, we always ask her to make our cakes. She made a terrific cake covered with strawberries! Made our shower look super classy!
Right: Lips and Mustaches! If you haven't played this game at a shower, you need to! Each person gets a set of lips and a mustache. We read questions and answers and if they think the bride said it, they hold up the lips and if they think the groom said it, they hold up the mustache. It was a really cute game!

3. New Behavior Charts!
My owl behavior charts I made last summer were a big hit. My kids loved the chart, too!
I'm currently working on four different classroom packs- birds, pirates, monsters, and animals.

 4. Book Bins
Get your body to Target ASAP while they still have their $1 book bins. If you're a Daily 5 teacher, these are absolutely perfect for
Last year, I spray painted these blue, purple, and green! I haven't decided if I want to spray paint these or leave their pretty colors!

5. New Binder Covers
My owl binder covers from last year are filled already, so I'm going to start over keeping my materials in new binders. Check out the binder covers I'm going to use!
Last Year's...

And every single one of them is filled, so I'm going to start over with these cute covers I made! Click the images if you're interested in buying!
So excited to start organizing!

I am linking up with the fabulous Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

  10. I am soooo excited to start organizing my binders too but that will have to wait until I move schools. My boxes will be in storage for the summer but I will be starting up early in August to get organized into my new home. I can't wait to organize my books and binders and my new room! I think if all goes well I just might blog my journey.

Thanks for the Target tip! They finally opened up a Target in British Columbia but it's not good so off to Bellingham WA I go...

    Have a great weekend everyone!
