New Year's Planning

I'm getting ready for New Year's plans for my classroom. I am going to do a New Year's craftivity and writing work about the holiday. I created a product to help out with my classroom plans. It is for sale at my TPT store!

In the craftivity and writing pack, there are 6 writing pieces including a Making Words recording sheet for 'New Year's Resolutions'. Here is what the craftivity looks like.

Here is my girl option...

And here is my boy option...

I also made a K/1 pack for my friends in Kindergarten!
This pack is filled with 10 centers- 5 for math and 5 for literacy.

Holly Jolly Holidays!

The last day before our Christmas break, my students particpated in centers. We did the Literacy centers on Monday with the recording sheets, then the Math centers on Tuesday with the recording sheets, then on Wednesday, we did all ten centers without any recording sheets!
This was just a fun, relaxed time where they worked together to "play", but learn at the same time to keep the last day educational.

Place Value Down on the Farm

Last week, I finished up my place value to 100 unit with my kids.
I used a few of the centers activities from my Place Value Down on the Farm unit.
The kids really enjoyed it!

I set up 6 stations that included different place value strategies.
{There are MORE in my place value pack, but we haven't gotten to thousands yet, so I'll save the rest for later!}

Station 1: Word and Number Word matching

Station 2: Identify hundreds/tens/ones houses

Station 3: Representing 3 digit numbers with place value blocks

Station 4: Represents hundreds, tens, and ones from a 3 digit number

Station 5: Identifying how many hundreds, tens, and ones

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Christmas is getting closer! A few of our teachers at our schools have decorated their doors for Christmas and it's really exciting!
Here is my door...
Santa Owls!

One of the Kindergarten doors.

Another Kindergarten door

And a third Kindergarten door...

These doors have the kids really excited for Christmas.
We also have other decorations throughout the school, but I just wanted to share those.

I did a wants and needs unit in my class and we finished the week off with a magazine wants/needs hunt for our wants and needs stockings. They turned out pretty cute.
A few of the kids had difficulty separating the two! I had some mixed up stockings!

And finally, here is a picture of the ornaments I made each of my kids this year!
I added Santa faces for confidentiality purposes, but you get the point...

I took their school pictures, glued it to cardstock, laminated, hotglued crayons around the edge, and tied a string around it.

The turned out really cute. I've put them on our Christmas tree outside out classrooms and the kids really love them.
Thanks Pinterest!

Merry Christmas everyone!
