Election Day Activities

Election Day Activities for primary students- hands on crafts and a mock election for different book characters

I am the type of teacher that absolutely adores teaching based around themes. So, September through January for me is basically amazing. :-) There are some teachers who prefer other ways of teaching, but there is nothing I love more than teaching week by week on a different seasonal theme!

This past week, we learned about Election Day (this kids won't be at school Monday or Tuesday). We did some fun activities, including a mock election and a craftivity.

Check out these cute boys and girls. :-)

The craftivity is at my TPT store!

Then, we had our mock election between Grace, Duck, and My Teacher.
My kids loved this!

I started by Reading Duck for President, Grace for President, and My Teacher for President.
Then, I split my kids up into campaign teams.
They made posters for their candidate.
Then, we held a mock election.

If they wanted to vote, they had to fill out a voter registration.

The ballot box isn't very patriotic, but all teachers know and understand that sometimes, you just have to make things work when time is limited. :-)
